A vote of the people. Led me to become the chosen leader of the French Republic in the 1800s.

Government-run public schools that I set up to dismiss corrupt officials and provide trained ones.
Concordat
An agreement that I signed with Pope Pius VII to make a new relationship between the church and the state. The agreement gave me support of the church and the French citizens.
Napoleonic Code
My greatest work in my life. Gave the country specific laws in which to follow, including limited liberty and special order and authority over individual rights.
Battle of Trafalgar
One major battle that I lost against Britain due to their superiority in naval fighting.
Blockade
A forcible closing of ports to prevent communication and trading.
Continental System
The policy of blockaded Britain to make continental Europe more self-sufficient and to destroy Great Britain's commercial and industrial economy.
Guerrillas
Groups of Spanish peasant fighters that attacked my French armies at Spain.
Peninsular War
A conflict in which Spanish rebels, with help from Britain, fought to drive me and my troops out of Spain.
Scorched-Earth Policy
The practice of burning crops and killing livestock during wartime so that the enemy cannot live off the land.
Waterloo
My last battle versus the British and the Prussians to regain power (unsuccessful). It led to the Hundred Days.
Hundred Days
The brief period during 1815 when I made my last bid for power, deposing the French king and becoming emperor again.
